PROSE IN THERAPY

The poem “Money Race” really gets into how disgruntled I am with the overly competitive paper chase that often is the western experience. There are some undertones here of paranoid mind reading which was meant to connect with the parts in the poem where men and women are described as both getting enveloped by the “ebola of my lifetime”(that being plutomania).

I feel that financial status causes singles, and couples, in society much grief. One is often left wondering what others are thinking about their successes and failures, be it about the object of ones desire or maybe the people who are exposed to ones budding romantic relationship. Vanity is made worse by this virus; all of a sudden we have fiscal standards to impose on each other.

Hopefully there is a cure.
