BANNER

VOLUME #3

Metal mayhem this night at the Bovine, fuckin’ eh, what a rager. Three bands, all heavy, no mercy–it was a real metalhead’s delight. Ya boy had a great time getting reunited with some old friends, it was hella rad. The pit was pretty crazy, a bunch of dudes showed up and bought Active Arson shirts(myself included) so ol’ peanut butter over here had plenty metal brothers to slam into while moshing. Much respect to all the bands that played, every set was wicked.

Doomsday For The Deceiver are a killer mix of sludge and doom metal, I really dig how this band is like a nonstop tidal wave of powerful riffs and crazy vocals. They move from song to song without much off the wall showmanship and are still so impressive. This is a band that knows what they want to do and does it well, their metal speaks for itself. Real approachable band too, no big head ego vibes or anything which is super refreshing for a band of their caliber. I really want these guys to make a music video or two, I think a few of them run an audio/visual studio, so watch out, maybe they’ll spoil us fans someday.

Active Arson burning up the scene on their first show, straight from hell I swear. If you haven’t checked out their album Lucifer’s Grail do yourself a favor and listen to it; this release is definitely worthwhile. I’m not just saying that because Peter is the greatest metal bassist of all time(because he is, HI PETAR!!!!^.^!!). Lucifer’s Grail is chock full of rad AF solo’s and complex, ominous, lyrical themes. They do really well for a thrash metal band with a lead guitarist on the vocals.

Pariah, some Ontario metal for your ears. These guys go in!! lots of double kick and chugalug!! Pariah has this crazy spaced out, almost industrial, feel too at times that is mucho appreciated. I would even dare to say they verge into some nu-metal vibes in their guitar work as well. Their vocalist is metal to the core with his screaming and puts on a good show to say the least, got some tuff guy attitude from this one which is always a kick in the pants. This band rips a sick set.
