VOLUME #2
Back for another upload and this one goes down as a crazy good time. Jasper Dandy is a decent venue, they have a huge room in he back for shows which was much appreciated. Lots of friends and good atmosphere at this one, certainly didn’t spend a lot of time between bands staring at my hands which was nice.
Rough Cuts are fucking wicked, I’m all about this band. Some members from Dirt Work joined together with some other Toronto peeps to put together some oi for the working class. One of the huge selling points for me was that they made a song about TFC called “REDS” which is essentially a remake of when the reds go marching in. This band has a clear message and they know how to send it like some real skinheads. Less than a week ago they released the “Nobody’s Fool” album, don’t miss out on this oi goodness.
Quebec City QC blessed the scene with some street punk with their very own The Hacked. I really enjoyed their live as fuck frontman, that guy really gives it his all. Sonically this band is where they should be; gritty, raw, and somehow still melodic. Peanut butter over here had a great time during their set, lots of great energy. They were pushing their “Fight Your Way” album, an awesome release that came out in August before this show.
Whiskey Shits rule. I am so stoked I got to see these guys, I had heard their name thrown around before and when I saw they were playing was all about it. This band has been around for a few years now; they love punk, they hate pigs, fuckin’ eh. The vocalist was drinking the whole time on stage with fans bringing him beers over the course of the set; these guys have lotsa heart. So on point there’s no reason no to check this one out, they have plenty of content online too which is dope.
Acidez, Guadalajara represent. This band goes so fucking hard. Let me start by thanking their Brazilian roadie/hype man, the guy was up front moshing and grabbing the mic for vocals the whole set it was amazing. Their vocalist is gnarly as fuck too, mucho attitude from this guy. I’m listening to their 2016 release “Welcome To The 3D World” wondering why everyone doesn’t listen to this band; all their iconography is so awesome, and don’t get me started on how hard their guitarist rips. No excuse to not listen here…
