BANNER

VOLUME #4

Volume 4 in full effect, yes yes, yous all get another volume care of QKP. This show was some good times, nice variety of sounds and stuff too. It wasn’t my usual crowd, but I was stoked to get the DL on some music going down in the city outside my usual circles. The Piston is a decent venue, first time checking out the back room they have for live music.

Vikki Gilmore is on some indie-folk music, real humble too; she was doing the doors when I walked in. She was playing with a band that recently got together, I’m guessing normally she does her acoustic guitar thing by herself. The set went well, her originals were neat. Lots of heart from this one.

The Hex are dope AF. Stoked on their energy, they get pretty far out for a power 3. I dig the whole eclectic punk feel they toy around with, the all femme line up is neato too. Decent vibes, ya boy over here was groovin’ to some of their tracks having fun. Great presence from their vocalist who apparently likes reading feminist-lesbian books with POC authors before she rips a set. Good times.

Growers closed the festivities out, pretty good band right here. They played a few good songs; I wish their vocalist didn’t accidentally unplug the guitarists pedal right before a solo. No real complaints though, these bros make some decent tunes. The whole jail jumpsuit motif was pretty jokes, not a bad set.
