BANNER

VOLUME #4

Decided to keep checking out some house music jams here and there. This was a crazy masquerade event, good times, chilled out and got groovy to some beats. Things started out fun with some bongos alongside one of the earlier DJs. The place was packed and costumes everywhere, I had a good time.

Big ups to the crowd that made it happen, check out their pages and stay fresh to the house scene:

Saliva Commandos was pretty sick, I’m not huge into house but his set was live. I wasn’t surprised to learn the dude got his start in 1996 with some success early on, you can tell off the bat that dude is experienced. I dig all the afro-cuban vibes in his beats, he was the last DJ I checked out that night and was for sure stoked to hear what NY is doing in house music.

Chico U & Joe Navarro held it down for Big Fun out of Toronto. Both spun some sick sets from what I could tell, Navarro has quite the lengthy career starting out with a DJ crew at 14 years. I like Chico U, he has an old-school vibe which is dope.

Paulo/Pietro from Toronto as well, these guys are on some serious DJ/promoter hustle. Pietro starting out in ’93 as a radio sensation over at 88.1 FM all the way from Barrie and Paulo a seasoned DJ who got his start in the late 80s at the age of 17. Their set was cool, there was a glowstick dancer and the floor was going full momentum at that point. Paulo/Pietro bring the vibes no doubt.

G Money representing Brampton spun some sick beats too. This guy is all about the house music, had his crew with him too. Decent sounds from what I could tell, I dug the set. Buddy posted his set from Masquerade on Mixcloud, check it out in the links section.
